Staff
At Cairn, we strive to develop not only amazing, nourishing camp experiences for children, but also for our staff. We think it is important to put time and energy into the training, development, growth and spiritual well-being of all of our staff members and help them to become extraordinary leaders.
Cairn’s staff are expected to be caring, thoughtful individuals who are committed to our camp community. Staff must demonstrate aptitude within their job areas, be strong and supportive team players, have an ardent passion for working with children and be open to strengthening their relationship with Christ and helping to inspire the love of God in all they do.
All of Cairn’s staff are encouraged to participate in a Leader in Training programme prior to applying to Cairn for the first time. The vast majority of Cairn’s staff have completed a 4-week Leader in Training programme and have previous camp experience. Many of our staff members have other qualifications above and beyond LIT training, including Bronze Cross, NLS, Swim & First Aid Instructor’s, ORCKA, Wilderness First Aid and Swift (White Water) qualifications.
Most of all, Cairn’s staff are committed to camp and all its facets: our campers, our community, God and each other.
