Seekers’ Edge

During Alumni Weekend in 2010, we started a new tradition that involves all of our alumni. Can you picture the hill that Eagle’s Nest and Bee Hive sit on, looking out over the lodge and most of camp? Together, we climbed that hill and circled up at the top, using candles to guide us. While standing all together, we dedicated that hill to all of our alumni. We named it, “Seekers’ Edge”.
We marked the hill, the Seekers’ Edge, as a place where we will remember the alumni of the past, present and future. This hill overlooks camp and will now act as a reminder of the alumni who stand on its edge, still watching over those of us who continue the traditions and culture that started at camp so many years ago.

Another part of Seekers’ Edge is a metal box. The box holds a book–The Dedication Book. Whenever you, as alumni, visit camp, we will encourage you to write down your ideas, wisdom, knowledge, hopes, wishes and dreams for our camp staff both now and in the future. This book will hold all those important ideas that will help impact new generations. What you write in this book is up to you, but know that your words will help us to remember you, to keep you in our hearts and motivate our staff to continue to do the phenomenal things they do each summer and beyond.

So, the next time you visit camp, make the short walk up to Seekers’ Edge. Take a look at the sign we erected. Write a note in The Dedication Book. Help us to keep you in our hearts as you continue to seek and watch over all of us at camp. You are a blessing to us and we thank you for the difference you have made in so many lives.
